Let’s meet Kiran Badloe, RS:X Men sailor from the Netherlands. Competing on his home water, the water in Medemblik hardly has any surprises for him. How does he feel about the Medemblik Regatta and what are his goals for this season?
“My first Medemblik Regatta, in 2013, was a great one. As one of the younger guys competing against so many experienced guys, it was the place to gain some experience. For us the Medemblik Regatta is a good start up for the season. It’s the moment we see the progress we’ve made during this winter training. It’s also good to see where we are standing towards the World Championship compared to the rest of the competition. The races in Medemblik are similar to the races at the Worlds, so it’s a good preparation for everyone to come and compete here.”
Kiran’s aim this season
“For the Medemblik Regatta I expect a great week with lot’s of races in perfect conditions. For this season I’m aiming to race constant races in all events. For the World Championship in Aarhus it’s my goal to get a podium finish.”
