Pawel beats Kiran in tight fight for RS-X gold

By 30 May 2015 News, RS-X Men

Pawel Tarnowski has won the men’s RS-X windsurfer gold medal for Poland, by a single point from the Netherlands’ Kiran Badloe. The 10 finallists were flying around the short course at speeds in excess of 20 knots, and in the early stages Badloe’s lead in the Medal Race looked good enough for overall victory.

There was plenty of place changing throughout the race, and at times Tarnowski was back in silver medal position, even on the final run to the finish. But the flying Pole pulled back a place just when he needed to, 4th place in the Medal Race good enough to give him gold by the slimmest of margins. Great Britain’s Tom Squires gets bronze.
