Today it’s medal race time.
49er at 10.00 hour
The 49ers have a 10:00 start, and they’ll race three short races. Single points are awarded and added to the total result list. German Tim Fischer and Fabian Graf are leading the fleet into the medal races by 8 points. Portuguese Jorge Lima and Jose Luis Costa are in second place, and Belgium Yannick Lefebvre and Tom Pelsmaekers come in third, with a gap of 26 points from the number one.
The race for the first place will be between the German and Portuguese guys. The Belgium team will battle with German Erik Heil and Thomas Ploessel, who are two points behind them. We can expect three exciting medal races in this class today!
49erFX at 11.30 hour
In the 49erFX it will be really close racing today. Numbers one to four have a gap of 20 points. With the same format as the 49er (three short races with single-point awarding), we can expect three thrilling finals! Leading at this moment are Croatian Enia Nincevic and Peiar Cupac with 38 points. Really close behind them are Annemiek Bekkering and Jeske Kisters (NED) with 41 points. Third is John Pink with Sophie Ainsworth (GBR) 56 points, fourth place is Hannah Mills and Alain Sign (GBR) with 58 points and in fifth place are the Germans Jule and Lotta Gorge (66 points).
Laser Radial at 13.00 hour
For the Japanese Manami Doi there is one job to do during the medal race: finish at least in the 9th place. She’s leading with a gap of 18 points with Marit Bouwmeester (NED), who had a great final day in the opening series. Bouwmeester has to keep an eye on the Italian Silvia Zennaro who is just 3 points behind her in third place. Both Emma Plasscheart (BEL) and Anne-Marie Rindom (DEN) also have a good chance for a silver or bronze medal at this event. So there should be a lot of tension on the water at 13:00.
