Dutch asset in the RS:X women Lilian de Geus is happy! We spoke her before today’s races. “The weather is really nice and there are a lot of girls here to compete.” So far she’s having a good season finishing first and seventh in her two events this season. This event she’s also doing well. According to De Geus the top three of the world ranking is competing here in Medemblik, which makes it an ideal event in preparation of her main goal, The World Championships in Aarhus.

After a turbulent competition day, keeping her third place in the overall standings, Lilian had reasons to be optimistic: “With everything going on before my first race, I’ve had a good day. One of the other windsurfers made a power gybe and didn’t see me, I had to start the race with a broken board. But I did ok, finished 4th. I was hoping to create a bigger distance from the other competitors today. Maybe I could have raced a better first race, but I’m still happy with my racing.”
