She’s the world champion in the 2.4mR, but missed the Paralympics in Rio. Megan Pascoe admits that it was a huge disappointment to miss out. Just like in 2012 (London Olympics), she lost the qualification battle to Helena Lucas. “It was a huge disappointment for me, especially because the IPC (International Paralympic Committee) have decided to drop sailing off the Paralympic program at Tokyo 2020. Another day with light wind conditions at the Delta Lloyd Regatta. It’s the warmest regatta in years and sailors have sailed every planned race, so the vibe is really good. Due to the light conditions today, there were some delays. Things will be different at the Enoshima Yacht Harbor for the 2020 Olympics

MEDEMBLIK – There was a lot of criticism about the organisation at the Olympic sailing venue in Rio last year. In around three year’s time, at the 2020 Olympic Games in Japan, it will be different. The sailing event will take place at the Enoshima Yacht Harbor, in the coastal city of Fujisawa.   The Japanese sailor, Yuichiro Kitamura, lives in Fujisawa, near the Olympic venue. Tricky winds, postponed races and new leaders in the second day

There were tricky winds for the sailors and the race committee. The day started with a delay, and only once the Laser Radial had set off at noon, could the racing start. Due to the shifting winds, a lot of overall results have changed since the first day. The race committees had a long day on the water, however, they still managed to finish all planned races.
